She also launched a school-wide mindfulness program which included introducing a new mindfulness practice to the community each week. Karen has also taught at elementary schools throughout NYC with the National Dance Institute and Little Flower Yoga/The School Wellness Project. She was a founding member of the creative team of A BroaderWay, and she also taught children’s dance classes at the Dream Project in the Dominican Republic. She is a member of IATSE 764, and has worked in wardrobe with shows including Hell’s Kitchen, Funny Girl, and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

Throughout each career path, Karen continued to explore yoga, mindfulness and meditation. She became a certified mindfulness meditation teacher with The Mindfulness Center.  She also holds an organizational mindfulness certification from Twello Academy. Karen has facilitated mindfulness professional development workshops for organizations including the National Dance Institute, Associates of NDI, NYC Arts in Education Roundtable, Kids Excel El Paso, Prairie Dance Theater (Oklahoma City), and Minds in Motion (Richmond). Karen is the Mindfulness Manager for a corporate wellness studio at Hudson Yards.
